Cabin Features

This beautiful, three story cabin features post and beam construction of solid oak which culminates in soaring cathedral ceilings in the great hall as well as in both upstairs bedrooms.

Built in 2000, our home fully embraces contemporary comforts, but is robed in an “old-fashioned” covering of cedar shingles and metal roof (which really does sound comforting when it rains).

All the Comforts of Home

  • Wi-Fi and land line phone are both provided through our local carrier, Wilkes Communication. Although we no longer carry basic cable, you can access Netflix, Amazon Prime, or YouTube through the smart TV/DVD features, if you have your own access code. WiFi runs at a screaming 100m/100m.
  • Stone fireplace with massive chimney in the great hall on the main floor. Logs outside are available for your use, however, if you are unfamiliar with flues, dampers and wood-burning fireplaces, please refrain from learning on this one.
  • Three bedrooms (each with a pillow top, queen size bed). The upstairs bedrooms have a full bath in between. Easily sleeps six. Linens and towels provided.
  • Wrap-around front and side decks, covered on the western end, perfect for enjoying nature in any weather. To add to the fun, there’s a hammock for two, a gas-fired barbecue grill, two anti-gravity recliners, a cozy table and chair set, a rotating outdoor fan and a porch swing.
  • Enclosed side porch facing the rising sun, ideal for breakfasts at the break of day, and book reading or napping at anytime.
  • Jacuzzi in the master bathroom, ideal for further relaxation at the end of day.
  • Small kitchen appliances include a flip Belgium waffle maker, crock pot, coffee maker, espresso maker, blender and all the basic equipment a kitchen warrior needs to emerge victorious from the flames. Or, rather, electric burners.
  • Washer and dryer are a stack unit on the main floor by the master bathroom. Very convenient!
  • Air conditioning and heat are maintained by dual heat pumps with separate thermostats for the main floor and the upper bedrooms. Plus, there are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and the great hall.
  • Large one car garage and a carpeted bunk room (sleeps 5 counting two bunks and a futon) on the ground floor (basement level). Sorry, no bathroom downstairs.

Oh, did we forget to mention that some of the best features are all the fine things you can do while you’re here
